Tuesday Sailing For some time now we have been running a Tuesday group of sailors who don't have to go to work. We sail at our Quad Park location and run a separately scored Tuesday series. Racing is conducted using a specially devised handicap system, which encourages beginners and a series of five week regattas are run each year. We sail from 1pm to about 3.30pm on Tuesdays. If you would like to come and join us, you will be welcome. Any queries, give Bill Heritage a telephone call on 5478 1765. We welcome new members!

Tuesday 31 August Gidday All Another successfully completed day in paradise. Nice weather and we were able to use A rigs. The fleet was very well behaved with few incidents. Welcome back Gary who showed everybody a clean pair of heels. He will again be away for a few weeks but will be severely handicapped on his return. David finished a whole ten races and if he keeps getting that much practice will soon be on the winners podium. Greg sailed very well for someone who has to miss 2 out of 4 races. He did however commit the cardinal sin and won the last race. A win is always a better feeling than a good handicap though.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Eddie Cowell Regatta. It ran very smoothly and was a credit to the club. Congratulations to Knuckles on his second placing also to Stuart and Mick who both participated and gained some good experience.
The South East Qld Regatta is on at the end of October and it would be nice if our club was represented. RESULTS FIRST Gary McArthy 2 SECOND Greg Adams 15 THIRD Mick Churcher 26
MONTHLY RESULTS FIRST Arthur Hodge 66 SECOND Garry McMahon 70 THIRD Jim O’Shannesy 78
Please remember to get clear while doing a penalty. It is a DSQ if you hit someone while doing your 360.

Tuesday 17 August Hello All Qld weather. Just perfect all the time. Fabulous day for sailing. Wind consistent from the SE but just swinging enough to help the back markers a little bit.A rigs were used and the odd gust made some of the downwinds interesting. There were a few collisions today. Please at least one person do a 360. It affects the rest of the fleets results as well as the 2 protagonists. Good to see David racing again. First in his first race. He can do it when he wants to. Stuart sailed the house down today. He is getting the hang of it. He managed to chime in with enough firsts to stay ahead of the pack. Congratulations to Stuart.Betty sailed well until halftime and was in the mix until then. Bill unfortunately suffered from a broken forestay and was not his consistent self. Bigger things from him next week. Results FIRST Stuart Bradley SECOND Glen Fitzgerald THIRD Clyde Rogers All winners have had their handicap appropriately altered. Congratulations to them. We need some entries for the Eddie Cowell regatta. We are on our home turf. There will probably be two fleets so it would be good experience for anybody entering. Put your name down. Have some funnnnn! EDDIE WOULD! Yesterdays results pretty well leave the month wide open with 2 races to sail. Lets hope for a big fleet next week. This Saturday is a LEGENDS RACE good practice for the Eddie Cowell.
